Nashville recording artist Jerry Schmitt and his band, The Jerry Schmitt Band, have made a name for themselves. Their sound appeals to young and old alike, and their love of performing and dedication to preserving traditional country music makes each of their shows a unique experience for their fans.
Jerry's sophomore album, "Wishful Thinking" released in Oct of 2016, is a tribute album to some of his heroes of traditional country music. The album consists of a selection of Jerry's favorite songs and are sure to evoke emotion from the listener as a result of the powerful performance, instrumentation, and lyrics. It is anticipated that it will become a favorite album for anyone who loves traditional country music!!
Since the release of Jerry’s first album, “100 Miles,” it has received radio air play not only in his home state of Wisconsin, but internationally in such diverse countries as Australia, Sweden, England, Japan, Germany, France, and Romania to name a few. The album, consisting exclusively of his own original songs, has drawn rave reviews from people across the United States and abroad. The "100 Miles" album was ranked #12 on the Best of 2018 Top True Country Albums by Nashville Radio Promotions.
Over the years, Jerry and his band have opened for numerous national acts including: Joe Nichols, Lee Brice, Randy Houser, John Conley, Cross Canadian Ragweed, the Oak Ridge Boys, Lorrie Morgan, Danielle Peck, Merle Haggard, and Joe Diffie.
Jerry and his band have been recognized with many awards and titles over the years, including being crowned the 2007 State Country Band Champions by the HODAG Country Music Festival. In addition to playing at many festivals, he has also entertained at dozens of bars, beer tents, county fairs, casinos, and rodeos across the Midwest and the United States.
Jerry and his band have had the opportunity to play in Nashville numerous times at such legendary locales as Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, 12th & Porter, Swinging Doors Bar & Grill, Honky-Tonk Central, and the historic Ryman Auditorium.
